What is hacienda chandelier and where it come from? Most hacienda chandeliers are handmade in Mexico out of forged iron and painted black. Their style is a reflection of old European designs brought to Americas by Spanish during conquest. So in fact any hacienda illumination fixture is also old European style chandelier of Spanish origin. Most of them are large ranging from four to six feet diameter. They are heavy too. Iron chandeliers cannot be hang simply by attaching them to the electric box on the ceiling. It would be very bad idea and may end up in disaster of the lamp falling down to the floor taking your electric installation with it. If you are considering getting a hacienda iron chandelier to your living room o foyer you will need to attach it to the ceiling joist instead.
